Ian was nephew to my dad (Stewart Mackay). When I was very young, Ian let me be his ‘apprentice’ when he was re-wiring our house in East Belfast. I remember him as quiet, patient, friendly and very skilled. Ian lived for his family, loved his children like life itself and bravely made a new life for Winnie and his kids in Canada during The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Rest in peace Ian. No more suffering.
