In Loving Memory of Auntie June
Auntie June was a beautiful light in our lives — gentle, warm, and full of grace. At 94, she left us with nearly a century of memories, love, and laughter.
We were lucky to grow up just a few miles from her home. Her house was more than a place — it was filled with the smell of good food, the sound of laughter, and the comfort of her kind heart. Whether we walked the dirt road or rode horseback the three miles to get there, the journey was always worth the trip.
She was a wonderful cook, a devoted mother, and the kind of auntie every child loved. One thing we could always count on: the moment we arrived, she’d smile and ask, “Did you tell your mom where you were going?” And if we hadn’t, she’d go straight to the phone and call Mom to let her know we were safe. It was just one of the many ways she cared — always thoughtful, always looking out for us.
We spent many nights, listening to Uncle Jim's music, dancing and playing canasta.
Auntie June taught us, quietly and lovingly, what it means to be strong, to be kind, and to love deeply. Her legacy is not just in her years, but in the countless lives she touched, the traditions she carried, and the love she gave freely.
She opened her heart and home to me when I was expecting my first child and gave me loving advise and courage.
We will miss her dearly — her smile, her stories, her warmth. But her memory lives on in every shared coversation, every walk down a country road, and every moment spent with family.
Rest peacefully, Auntie June. Thank you for the love you gave so freely — and for always making sure we called our mom.

Colleen,
Was so very sorry to hear that your mom passed away. I really enjoyed our Wednesday bingo games at the Dr. Cooke with you and June. She loved winning like all the residents who played. I will remember June for her gentle disposition and her beautiful smile.
Take care and know that I am thinking of you at this sad time.
