It’s too bad Larry wasn’t in charge of more things, because he really was the best at running them. He had a way with people and an ability to make decisions that always seemed to put everyone on the best path forward. Working with Larry never really felt like work. Even though he joked that a 12-hour day was only a “half day,” he always made sure you knew your effort was appreciated.
Some of my favorite memories will always be the BMW Christmas parties. Every child of every employee received a present from Santa, and every employee received a cheque. That was how Larry wanted it—and things like that just don’t happen anymore.
I’m grateful for the time I had working with him, and for the friendship, mentorship, and memories he left behind.
Rest in peace, my friend.
My sincere condolences to his family.
