John is survived by: his loving wife Jessie; three children: Gordon Bettcher and his wife Carol; Jean and her husband Eugene Hamel and Neil Bettcher and his wife Pauline; three grandchildren: Andrea and her husband Marc Hamel; Chris Bettcher and his wife Laura and Carol's daughter Jenna; two great grandchildren: Damon and Kelsey Bettcher; one sister Lora Riemer of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Canada and the United States. John especially cherished his nephews Merl, Daryle and Wayne who grew up nearby.

John was predeceased by: his parents John and Mary Bettcher, five brothers and three sisters.
