McGUFFIE: John “Jack” Arthur McGuffie passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, Octobver 9, 2005 at the age of 89 years.

Jack is survived by: his loving wife Freda of Lloydminster; two daughters: Cherie and her husband Jim McKay of Leduc and Barb Bloor of Edmonton; four granddaughters: Janet Bloor of Hythe, Alberta; Terelyn Bloor of Edmonton; Tanya and her husband Darren Bitzer of Redwood Meadows; Alana McKay and Tim of Leduc; one great grandson Caleb Bitzer of Redwood Meadows; one sister Dorothy Webb of Vermilion as well as numerous other relatives.

Jack was predeceased by his parents and one sister Jean Bowyer.

Jack and Freda were happily married for 63 years and his family was his most prized possession, especially the recent addition of his only great grandchild Caleb (A boy at last!) Jack’s family will cherish memories of him forever.

Jack was a World War II veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 61 years and the Elks for 54 years.

The memorial service for Jack was conducted from St. John’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sheila Hagan-Bloxham officiating. A eulogy was given by nephew Don Retzlaff. Reflections of Jack were given by Reverend Harold Martin. Hymns sung were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “In The Garden,” and “Mansion Over The Hilltop,” accompanied on the piano by Marj Kilback. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery.

McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements.

Harold Martin for his “Reflections.” Special thanks to Glenn McCaw and staff for the warmth and assistance with the arrangements at this difficult time. We also wish to thank the Legion for their Honor Guard and Ceremony and the Royal Purple and the Elks for their Honor Guard. Our appreciation to the Royal Purple for serving lunch.
