Carl Wendt Obituary

WENDT: Slim Wendt (Carl) of Lloydminster, Alberta passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the age of 95 years.


Slim was born on the homestead near Strome, Alberta on November 20, 1909 to Herman and Wilhelmina Wendt. He was the eighth child in what eventually became a family of nine children. All of his brothers and sisters have predeceased him.


During his lifetime Slim worked as a cowboy and rode in various pastures looking after cattle. He supplied bucking horses for rodeos. For a few years he helped out at the chuckwagon races. In 1935 he married Dorothy Ingram.


Slim is survived by: one son Glen Wendt and his wife Barb; one granddaughter Jill and her husband Kelly Tercier; one great granddaughter Allison, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


The funeral service for Slim was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with speaker Richard Kessler. Active pallbearers were: Grant Murray, Arlee Murray, Glen Beggs, Roy Graham, Larry McEwen and Denny Robbie. Interment was held before the service at the Golden Valley Cemetery.


McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements.
