Mary Blais Obituary

“Let perpetual light shine upon her O Lord. May she rest in peace.”


Blais (nee Ianni): Mary Blais of Lloydminster passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the age of 49. Mary was born in Welland, Ontario and moved to Lloydminster in 1979.


Mary is survived by her loving husband Edgar and their three children Joseph, Daniel and Brittany. She is also survived by her parents Mr. And Mrs. Ettore and Lorenza Ianni and her three sisters Miranda (Tony) Wakaliuk, Bernarda Colitti and Sister Margherita all of Welland. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.


Mary was predeceased by her three brothers-in-law Italo Tomaino (1969), Antonio Colitti (1998) and Bertrand Blais (2002).


The prayer vigil was conducted from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial was also conducted from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Adam Lech, Father Ron Dechant, Father Ken West and Father Jim Corrigan officiating. Leaders of Song were Marlene Risling, Pat Hankey and Donna Weston. Interment followed at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Save A Family Plan, Box 3622, London, Ontario N6A 4L4.

We would like to thank everyone that prayed for Mary and our family over the past number of years. Mary has now entered into glory.


Special thanks are extended to Father Adam Lech, Dr. Snyman, Dr. duPlooy, the Home Care nursing staff and the third floor nursing staff.


To all of you who walked with us during these difficult days we say a sincere ‘Thank you.’


Thank you for the gifts of flowers, cards, food and words of sympathy expressed by everyone in our community. Also, thank you to the C.W.L. for preparing the funeral luncheon and to Glenn McCaw and his staff for their professionalism and support.
