Robert "Bob" McRae Tough passed away peacefully at Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, SK, on August 4th, 2025, at the age of 85 years. 

Robert Tough was born on March 5, 1940, in Edmonton, AB, to David and Annie Tough. He was the second youngest of eight children. Once he was old enough, Robert moved to Turtleford and began working as a farmhand for his sister, Netta and her husband, Bob Taves from 1956 to 1959. It was during this time that he discovered his deep love for farming. In 1959, he purchased a farm just east of Turtleford, officially beginning his journey as a farmer. In 1968, Robert married Phyllis Naeth, and together they built a life and raised three children on the farm. Over the years, they cared for a variety of animals including sheep, horses, pigs, chickens, geese, and cows. As time went on, they gradually downsized and focused solely on cattle. Robert lived on the farm until the age of 83, dedicating his life to the land he loved. Farming remained Robert’s lifelong passion - one that he proudly passed down to his son Bobby and his family, who continue to care for the farm today.

son, George Tough and his daughters,

Emma King and

Kenzi; 

daughter, Roberta (Vern) Mckee and their children,

Sam (Chase) Bannerman and their children, Gabriella and Quintin,

Kurt (special friend, Meghan) and

Cameron (special friend, Jhorose); 

son, Bobby (Cindy) Tough, and their children,

Kyla Millard,

Damien (special friend, Julia) and

Mia (special friend, Brody);

and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Bob was predeceased by his parents, David and Annie Tough; wife, Phyllis (Naeth); siblings, David, George, Ian, Mary (Payne), Netta (Taves), Anne (Olson) and Jeannette (Garn). 

A Celebration of life for Bob will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Turtleford Riverside Health Complex for the care given to Robert "Bob" and Phyllis.
