Mrs. Helen Mary Lacoursiere (nee Petrovich), a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 94 years on July 23, 2025 in Edmonton AB.

Born on April 14, 1931 in Spiritwood, SK. Helen was proud to have been raised on a farm which provided her with a solid foundation and instilled in her a deep sense of humility and resilience which she carried throughout her life. Helen’s upbringing shaped her values and remained a source of strength for her. These values guided Helen throughout her life and were evident in the way she cared for her family and community.

Helen married Gerald Lacoursiere and together they raised a family and built a loving home filled with warmth and dedication. Though Gerald passed away in June 1996, his memory remained close to Helen‘s heart throughout her life.

Helen was the proud mother of four children, Brian (Mary Ann) Lacoursiere, Annette Wood, Doug (Shelly) Lacoursiere and Kevin (Shelley) Lacoursiere.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Lutzak, Nathan Lacoursiere, Jennifer (Sam) Donaghey, Erin Wood (Alex Cabrera), Dillan Lacoursiere, Sabrina Lacoursiere and Lexi Lacoursiere.

She was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Eva Lutzak and Penelope Lacoursiere, who brought her much joy in her later years. Helen is also survived by: her brother, Stephen Petrovich; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

A devout Catholic throughout her life, Helen was an active member of the CWL in Lloydminster. Her faith was a cornerstone of her identity and inspired many around her. Helen had many talents that enriched the lives of those who knew her. She was an exceptional cook and baker, whose kitchen was always filled with pleasant aromas and delicious meals and pastries. A gifted seamstress as well, she created beautiful garments with care and precision with each stitch a testament to her patience and skill. 

Helen was predeceased by: her beloved husband, Gerald Lacoursiere; and her dear sister, Margaret Noyes.

In honour of Helen’s passing, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 12th, 2025 at 10:00 AM

An Interment will be held at Lloydminster City Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM in the Hall at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church.
