Leona Ann Chief passed away at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 66 years.

Leona was born March 9th, 1959 in Prince Albert, SK to Leo and Mary Champagne. Leona was the second eldest of 10 children. Out of all the children, she lived on adventure and living life to it's fullest. Growing up close with her cousins, Leona enjoyed her crazy antics of her siblings and cousins to the point where everyone did not expect what was to come. She loved laughter, she loved all with her whole heart.

At the age of 14, Leona met the father of her eldest children, Cameron Dillon. Together they had four children. Leona then met the love of her life Terry Cook years later. Leona and Terry raised 7 children together. Over the years, Leona would talk of how she missed her parents, she made sure her children knew who they were. Leona has gone through great loss as her sons and brother were taken before her. With those loss, she was more somber as her world was shattered. Her sadness for them got stronger, Leona is now reunited with her loved ones. How happy she must be.

Leona leaves to mourn her passing: her beloved, Terry Cook; children, Jennifer, Tyson (Tanisha), Shelly, Judy, Anne (Gary) and Tricia; sisters, Irene (Dick), Shirley (Quentin), Mary Jane (Ronnie), Carolyn (Grant), Josephine (Kenny) and Sharlene (Harley); baby brother, Jay; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leona is predeceased by: her parents whom she loved dearly, Leo and Mary Champagne; sons, Darwin and Cameron Jr.; brother, Glen; nephew, Kolin; and grandsons, Isaiah, Adrien and a set of twins. 

The Wake for Leona will be conducted from Round Hall, Onion Lake, SK on Saturday, January 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

The Funeral Service for Leona will be conducted from Round Hall, Onion Lake, SK on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
