The Funeral Service will be held at McInnis and Halloway Funeral Home Deer Foot South,12281 40 th street SE, Calgary, AB.

Interment is at Prairie Sky Columbarium 12350 84th ST, Calgary AB.

George was born on January 25, 1950, the youngest of four children to John and Mary Kozun. Raised on the family farm, he attended Luing School before continuing his education in Nipawin, where he graduated in 1968. He later studied computer programming at McKay Technical Institute, further expanding his skills and knowledge. It was in Nipawin that George met the love of his life, Ruth Wartman, during high school. The two were married on October 6, 1973, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and hard work.

George and Ruth were blessed with three children: Ginelle, Graeme, and Rochelle. His greatest joy were his grandchildren: Kayl, Kyren, Kohen,

Rhéal, and Rowan, all of whom he adored deeply.

George`s career began with the Department of Agriculture as a surveyor before he turned his focus to family farming full time. After many years on the farm, he moved to Nipawin and worked with the Pineland Co-op. Alongside his work there, George also took on insulating homes, a trade he became well known for in the community. In 2006, George and Ruth relocated to Calgary, where he continued his insulating work alongside his son Graeme until his passing.

There was no “in between” with George - he was all in, whether it was work, family, friendships, or any of his many passions. He enjoyed golfing, curling, gardening and cheering on his beloved Riders - even after moving to Calgary. He loved friends and family coming over for a great card game, sharing jokes, and brightening every room with his great sense of humor. A talented chef, George was especially known for his delicious Ukrainian dishes, which he always prepared with joy, particularly at Christmas time. Palm Springs held a special place in his heart, as it was one of his favorite travel destinations among the many trips that they shared with their family and friends.

George will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife Ruth, his children, daughter Ginelle (Byron) Kayl, Kyren, Kohen and Cashton; son Graeme (Mel); and daughter Rochelle (Robert) Rhéal and Rowan. He is also survived by his brother Al (Carol), and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

George will be remembered for the remarkable man he was and the love he shared so freely.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery fund, Codette, Saskatchewan
