I was saddened to hear of John's passing. John was a leader in the credit union system and was well respected. I referred to the Lloydminster Credit Union as "the house that John built". I can remember the fight John put up to stop the amalgamation of the credit union the first time around and he was successful in that effort as the credit union retained its autonomy. Sadly, it has since been merged (absorbed) by a much bigger entity. I'm sure John would not have been pleased about that. We have lost another icon of the credit union system. I will always remember him. My condolences to John's family. It will have been a terrible loss.

Jonathan and the Vinek Family:
I’m so sorry for your loss. I didn’t have the privilege of knowing your dad, but after reading about his life and the stories Jonathan has told me, it’s clear he was a remarkable man; hardworking, full of spirit, and deeply devoted to his family and community. I know how close your family is, and I can only imagine how much he meant to you all.
Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
Me deepest condolences.

To Rose and family we are saddened to hear of John's passing.
Our memories of you and John go back a long way. we were next door neighbors for a while in the early 70s living in adjacent duplexes. My fondest memory of John goes back to that time I was was attending apprenticeship schooling in Edmonton and I had some banking business that had to be taken care of. I explained to John that I was only home from Friday night to Sunday evening and could not make it into the bank during banking hours. That's okay he said when you come home next Friday evening I will come over to your house and we will get the papers signed up. That was the beginning of a long and lasting friendship and business relationship. Try doing that today.

Rose and family,
We are so sorry to learn of John’s passing. Our last visit with him and Jeremy was so nice and one we will remember for a very long time.
Jay cannot remember a time that between him and his dad that John wasn’t their landlord. For a tenant and landlord to have this kind of long lasting relationship says a lot about the landlord. Jay believes it started in the early 80s with his dad, and he is proud to be able to continue farming the land.
I always enjoyed our little conversations over the phone or when he popped in at the house to see how the growing season was going. He never failed to ask about our kids, and was always amazed at how our little boy was no longer little and following in his dad and grandpas footsteps.
We are sending our condolences at this very sad time.
