Wilfred Patrick Opissinow passed away in Onion Lake, Saskatchewan on January 11, 2026 at the age of 72 years.

Uppa is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Ethel Thompson; children, Valentina (Leslie), Vanora (Dwayne), Sam (Noella), Darlene and Marlene; foster daughter, Selina (Conroy) and Lisa; adopted son,  Dwayne Horse (Kristen); son-in-law, Eugene Dufresne; siblings, Victoria Pahtayken, Leona (Gordon) Cook, Leo (Coreen) Opissinow and Elaine (Leonard) Fox; sister-in-law, Florence Opissinow; niece that Uppa called 'my girl', Myrna Waskewitch; special neices who he loved as his own, Cindy Carter, Vanessa Opissinow and Delilah Wolfe (Stanly); and all the foster children that went through the house.

Uppa is predeceased by: his daughter, Veronica Thompson (2025) that he missed dearly; parents, Caroline Opissinow (1991) and Albert Waskewitch (1978); siblings John George Opissinow (1978), Tomas Opissinow (2018), Jerome Fredrick 'Jerry' Opissinow (2013); Daniel Opissinow (1995), Julia Opissinow (2014) and Justine Carter (2006); and grandsons, Keegan Dufresne (2009), Keelin Dufresne (2015) and Baby Boy Dufresne.

The Funeral Service for Uppa will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
